Sales were up by 69 percent over December 2021
With cumulative retail sales of 4,306 units in January, MG Motor India registered a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 20 percent over 3,602 units sold in January 2021. Compared to December 2021’s 2,550 units, sales were up 69 percent in the first month of CY2022.
However, the company said it continues to face production challenges spurred by global semiconductor shortage, which is likely to improve in the second half of 2022.
MG Motor India, which has sold over 4,000 units of its ZS EV crossover in the Indian market since its launch in 2020, is now ready to introduce a heavily-refreshed version that would sport styling tweaks and a bigger 51kWh battery pack compared to the current model’s 44.5kWh unit. The updated ZS EV will see its range getting enhanced from 419km to over 480km as per test cycles.
