MG launches updated ZS EV with ADAS Suite at Rs 27.90 lakh
Latest update adds more features such as traffic jam assist, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, speed assist systems, and adaptive cruise control
MG Motor India has launched a new Exclusive Pro trim of the ZS EV SUV that comes with a full suite of ADAS features. Introductorily priced at Rs 27.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new ZS EV Exclusive Pro is Rs 59,000 more expensive than the regular Exclusive trim, and adds a few more driver assistance functions to now match the petrol-powered Astor SUV.
MG ZS EV Exclusive Pro: what’s new?
So far, the ZS EV was only offered with assistance features like blind spot detection, lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert. This latest update adds more features such as traffic jam assist, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, speed assist systems, and adaptive cruise control.
What’s interesting is that you can manually set the level of sensitivity of the assistance systems to either low, medium or high. The system also has three levels of warning – haptic, audio and visual.
Other than this, the equipment list on the ZS EV remains unchanged. It continues with safety features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and hill descent control. It also gets a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen system, wireless phone charging, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, and connected car tech.
MG ZS EV remains mechanically unchanged
Under the skin, the ZS EV continues with a 50.3kWh battery that has a claimed range of 461km as per the ICAT cycle. In our range test, however, we managed 339km on a single charge in the real world. The ZS EV continues to be powered by a front-axle mounted electric motor that produces 176hp and 280Nm, and MG claims a 0-100kph time of 8.5 seconds.
Prices for the ZS EV now range between Rs 23.38 lakh to Rs 27.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and it rivals the likes of the BYD Atto 3 and Hyundai Kona EV.
