Metastable Materials onboards Daniel Troedsso as advisor

Bengaluru-based deep-tech battery recycling startup Metastable Materials has announced the appointment of Daniel Troedsson, a battery and energy expert with nearly 2 decades of experience, as the company’s advisor.

Additionally, in the near future, Daniel is likely to add further value by helping Metastable Materials expand its international market reach significantly.

Daniel Troedsson, former CEO and Investor Relations at Sweden-based Alelion Batteries AB (currently known as Alelion Energy Systems AB) previously held the positions of SVP, Head of Battery Optimisation and Monitoring Technology at Volvo Energy, and SVP, Electromobility at Volvo Group Trucks Technology.

His expertise spans battery technology, energy systems, and sustainable solutions. Daniel’s interest in Metastable Materials stems from the shared vision of making eco-friendly battery recycling a viable reality at scale, thereby ushering circularity in the energy storage value chain and creating a more sustainable world.

In the short term, Daniel’s expertise and mentorship will bolster Metastable Materials’ strategic decision-making; whereas over the long term, his strategic guidance shall empower them in establishing Metastable Materials as a global leader in the sustainable battery recycling space.

Speaking about his association with Metastable, Daniel Troedsson said, “I am extremely happy to join forces with Metastable Materials as their strategic advisor. Metastable is a groundbreaking startup that has, within a very short time span, exhibited the effectiveness of their recycling technology, exemplified through its successful execution of a small-scale production line. Metastable’s strategic advantage, anchored via a patented solution, solidifies its position as the frontrunner in the recycling industry. I harbor unwavering faith and confidence in their future success, and I’m privileged to offer my support as they embark on the journey of unprecedented growth.”

Shubham Vishvakarma, Founder, Metastable Materials commented, This is a huge milestone for us, and together, I'm confident that we will be making great strides in making our recycling processes even more efficient, and propel Metastable Materials and the battery recycling industry overall to greater heights.”

At the forefront of spearheading the electric revolution, Daniel Troedsson’s notable career achievements include taking Alelion Batteries AB public successfully (he had played a key role in getting the company listed on the Nasdaq Index) and contributing to their development of lithium-ion battery technology and in setting up Sweden’s first large-scale, privately-owned Li-ion battery factory. Under his leadership, Alelion emerged as a preferred battery supplier for electrified heavy-duty powertrains and HCVs.

More recently, Daniel has been actively investing in multiple promising climate-tech startups across Europe and other continents as an angel investor, and lending his expertise and knowledge to new-age sustainability-first companies as an independent advisor. At Metastable Materials, Daniel brings a fresh perspective, innovative ideas, and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.
