Mercedes-Benz India reported its highest-ever fiscal year sales of 19,363 units in FY 2025-26, a marginal increase from 18,928 units in FY 2024-25. The company also posted Q1 2026 (January–March) sales of 5,131 units, up 7% from 4,775 units in the year-ago quarter.

The growth was led by the top-end luxury segment — comprising the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach range, EQS SUV and the AMG portfolio — which grew 16% over the fiscal year and 25% in Q1 2026. Vehicles in this bracket now account for 27% of Mercedes-Benz India's total sales. Waiting periods for models such as the AMG G 63 extend up to 12 months.

The core segment, which includes the C-Class, long-wheelbase E-Class, GLC and GLE, continued to contribute a significant share of volumes. The LWB E-Class, bolstered by the E 450 variant, remains the highest-selling luxury sedan in the country, according to the company.

The entry luxury segment, however, saw an 18% decline in FY26, a drop the company attributed to intensifying competition from lower-priced products backed by market-led incentives. Mercedes-Benz India said it would continue to prioritise product content and brand desirability over price-led volume growth.

Battery electric vehicles accounted for 20% of Mercedes-Benz's top-end sales in FY26. Top-end BEVs — those priced above ₹1.4 crore — recorded 85% growth year-on-year, driven by the EQS SUV, EQS Maybach SUV and the Electric G-Class. The company has confirmed the launch of the CLA BEV on 24 April 2026, which it described as its first next-generation software-defined electric vehicle for the Indian market.

Two New AMG Models

Alongside the sales announcement, Mercedes-Benz India introduced two performance variants. The AMG A45 S Aero Track Edition 4MATIC+, a hot hatch with a 421 hp, 2.0-litre turbo-four and a 0–100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds, is priced at ₹87 lakh (ex-showroom). The AMG GLE 53 Coupé Performance Edition, powered by a 435 hp, 3.0-litre inline-six, carries a price tag of ₹1.52 crore (ex-showroom).

Mercedes-Benz India plans to add over 20 luxury retail outlets in 2026, supported by franchise partner investments exceeding ₹450 crore. New showrooms in Visakhapatnam, Varanasi, Goa and Pune are planned for Q2 2026, while upgraded facilities in Bengaluru, Bhopal and Raipur were inaugurated in Q1 2026.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, said
“Our product fireworks for 2026 will continue as we introduce two new AMGs for performance enthusiasts. We are enthused by the overwhelming response to new products like GLS Maybach, the V-Class and the CLA BEV, and customers can expect more desirable products planned across segments for the remaining quarters.”
