Mercedes-Benz unveiled its latest iteration of the iconic G-Class, the Mercedes-AMG G 63, featuring a hybrid powertrain and enhanced off-road capabilities. The new G 63 has a handcrafted 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, supplemented with a 48-volt electrical system and integrated starter generator.

The powertrain delivers 430 kW and 850 Nm of torque, with an additional 15 kW boost from the hybrid system. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.3 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 240 kmph.

The G 63's suspension system has been completely redesigned, featuring AMG Active Ride Control with hydraulic roll stabilization. According to Mercedes, the system replaces conventional mechanical anti-roll bars with active hydraulic elements, while adaptive shock absorbers are equipped with dual hydraulic connections for improved handling and comfort.

The exterior maintains the G-Class's characteristic silhouette while introducing new elements such as vertical louvers in the front bumper and the AMG crest on the hood. Inside, the vehicle features a redesigned off-road cockpit with dual 12.3-inch displays and augmented reality navigation.

A notable addition is the "Transparent Hood" function, accessible through the off-road menu, which aids in challenging terrain navigation. The vehicle's off-road control unit displays essential information including vehicle positioning, compass readings, altitude, steering angle, and tire pressure.

The new G 63 represents a significant technological advancement while maintaining its traditional off-road capabilities. The vehicle comes equipped with noise and vibration control features, including acoustic glass for cabin insulation, and offers extensive customization options through the Manufaktur program, with 31 upholstery choices and 29 paint options available.

Mercedes-Benz's latest offering aims to balance luxury with genuine off-road capability, incorporating modern safety features such as active brake assist and lane-keeping systems while maintaining the model's distinctive character.

“The highly anticipated all-new AMG G 63 launch signifies our dedication to delivering the 'most desirable' vehicles from our global lineup to the Indian luxury lifestyle enthusiasts. (M)ercedes-AMG is synonymous with performance, precision, and extraordinary craftsmanship. With the launch of the Mercedes-AMG G 63, we blend the legendary G-Class heritage with cutting-edge technology and unparalleled luxury."
