Mecpower Solutions Signs MoU with Gujarat Government for Rs 160 Crore Battery Storage Plant

Renewable energy infrastructure firm Mecpower Solutions Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to set up a 5 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assembly facility in Karjan. The project entails a proposed capital investment of approximately Rs 160 crore.
5 GWh Facility to Target Grid-Scale and Commercial Energy Storage Demand
The proposed facility is intended to assemble battery energy storage systems targeted at utility-scale renewable energy projects, as well as commercial and industrial applications. Energy storage infrastructure is gaining operational relevance in India to manage the intermittency of renewable power generation and maintain electrical grid stability as clean energy capacity expands nationwide.
