MATTER launches nationwide fast charging network, advocates for universal EV charging access, and rolls out energy hubs to support India’s electric two-wheeler transition.

On the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, MATTER, an electric vehicle and energy solutions startup, announced the launch of its nationwide fast charging network, the MATTER Energy Fast Charge Network, as part of a broader initiative called the ‘Right to Charging’ campaign.
The company stated that the initiative aims to expand access to electric two-wheeler charging infrastructure across the country. With motorcycles making up approximately 65% of India’s two-wheeler market, MATTER emphasized the importance of robust charging solutions in supporting the transition to electric mobility.
At the core of the rollout is a newly developed 3kW fast charger, designed in-house by MATTER. The charger is capable of charging the company’s MATTER AERA model from 0% to 80% in about 90 minutes. The device operates on a fully connected platform, integrated with the MATTERVerse mobile application, allowing users to view real-time information on charger availability, location, and charging status.
As part of the ‘Right to Charging’ initiative, MATTER plans to deploy charging hubs equipped with both slow and fast chargers in residential complexes, public parking areas, and commercial hubs. The company is also advocating for the installation of charging infrastructure at every two-wheeler parking location to improve accessibility. In addition, MATTER will offer on-demand fast charger installations for riders at their homes, workplaces, and other public locations. All MATTER dealerships will be equipped with fast-charging facilities, and the company intends to integrate partner charging networks into its MATTER Energy Network and MATTERVerse App, enabling users to access a wider network of charging points through a single platform.
In the initial phase, MATTER AERA owners will have free access to charging at all MATTER Experience Hubs across the country. The company has not disclosed the duration of this complimentary service.
Mohal Lalbhai, Founder and Group CEO of MATTER, said the initiative aligns with national sustainability goals and aims to make EV charging more accessible. “As India marks another year of independence, ensuring equitable access to clean mobility infrastructure becomes increasingly important,” he said. “The ‘Right to Charging’ is about building a future-ready, affordable, and universally accessible energy ecosystem for electric vehicle users.”
MATTER plans to roll out additional Charge Hubs in phases across urban and semi-urban areas. The company continues to promote its vertically integrated model, which includes vehicle manufacturing, battery technology, and charging infrastructure development.
The announcement underscores growing industry focus on addressing charging accessibility—a key barrier to wider adoption of electric two-wheelers in India.
