Maruti Suzuki registered total wholesale dispatches of 2,36,013 units in September 2026, marking a 24.44% year-on-year increase compared to 1,89,665 units sold during the same month last year.
The carmaker said that the volume expansion was driven by inventory build-up across dealership networks ahead of the peak festive retail period, supported by strong demand across SUVs and entry-level cars.
Domestic passenger vehicle dispatches rose 36.91% to 1,81,838 units in September from 1,32,820 units in September 2025.
Growth was led by its utility vehicle portfolio which surged 62.05% to 78,911 units against 48,695 units a year earlier. Other passenger vehicles in its portfolio expanded 24.02% to 91,887 units compared to 74,090 units in September 2025. Eeco van sales grew to 11,040 units from 10,035 units, while Super Carry light commercial vehicle dispatches rose to 3,414 units against 2,891 units a year ago.
Total domestic dispatches, including passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles, reached 1,85,252 units compared to 1,35,711 units in the corresponding month last year.
Badge-engineered vehicles sales to Toyota Kirloskar Motor (like the Glanza, a rebadged Baleno) fell 44.32% to 6,542 units from 11,750 units recorded in September 2025.
Combined domestic volumes across all streams totaled 1,91,794 units against 1,47,461 units a year earlier. On the overseas front, export shipments rose 4.77% year-on-year to 44,219 units from 42,204 units shipped during the same period in 2025.
