Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has announced that the WagonR was India’s highest-selling passenger vehicle for the financial year 2024-25, recording sales of 1,98,451 units. This marks the fourth consecutive year the hatchback has maintained its top position, having led sales since FY 2021-22.
The WagonR has been a consistent performer in the Indian automobile market, with cumulative sales surpassing 33.7 lakh units. According to the company, a significant number of WagonR owners—one in every four—choose to repurchase the model, highlighting its continued popularity.
Speaking on the achievement, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, MSIL, stated that the WagonR’s strong sales reflect customer trust and its presence in the Indian market for over 25 years. He emphasized that the model continues to appeal to buyers due to its practicality, spacious design, and fuel efficiency.
