Maruti Suzuki Standardizes 6 Airbags Across Four Popular Models
The automaker has equipped WagonR, Alto K10, Celerio, and Eeco with enhanced safety features, responding to India's evolving road infrastructure and mobility patterns.
Maruti Suzuki ARENA has announced the standardization of 6 airbags across four of its popular models - WagonR, Alto K10, Celerio, and Eeco. The move, revealed today, aims to enhance occupant protection and elevate safety standards for motorists nationwide.
The safety enhancement includes dual front airbags, side airbags, and curtain airbags, complemented by 3-point seat belts with reminders for all occupants. These models now join other ARENA vehicles - Swift, Dzire, and Brezza - which already offer 6 airbags as standard equipment.
"India's rapidly expanding modern road infrastructure, high-speed expressways, and evolving mobility patterns imply that the need for robust safety measures has never been greater. We at Maruti Suzuki are committed to staying ahead of evolving customer expectations and making high-end safety accessible," said Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
"With the decision of making 6 airbags standard in the WagonR, Alto K10, Celerio, and Eeco, we are ensuring that enhanced safety is available for all. Given the immense popularity of these models, this move substantially elevates safety standards for a vast number of motorists and contributes holistically to occupant protection nationwide," Banerjee added.
To increase awareness about the benefits of 6 airbags, the company has launched a comprehensive campaign featuring high-adrenaline activities such as Zorbing and Bubble Football, highlighting the concept of safety in 6 airbag-equipped vehicles.
Additional safety technologies in these vehicles include Electronic Stability Control (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), among others.
The upgraded models are now available at Maruti Suzuki ARENA authorized dealerships across India.
