Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has announced a senior management reshuffle, with changes across service, parts and information technology functions, effective April 1, 2026.

As part of the restructuring, Manoj Gautam, Head of Information Technology, will step down following superannuation. Post his exit, Tapan Sahoo, who currently leads digital enterprise and cybersecurity functions, will also take charge of the IT function.

Sahoo’s expanded role aligns with Maruti Suzuki’s broader push towards digital transformation, where technology, data and cybersecurity are becoming central to operations and customer experience. He has been leading the company’s digital initiatives, including the adoption of AI and advanced technologies across functions.

Meanwhile, S D Chhabra has been shifted from Head of Parts and Accessories to a role in production, marking a transition within the company’s manufacturing and supply chain operations.

In another key move, Ram Suresh Akella, who was the Head of Service has been moved to Head Parts & Accessories, while B S Suresh Babu has been appointed Head of Service. Both appointments will continue under full-time roles within the company, according to the press release.

Akella has been with the company for over three decades and has held multiple roles across sales, network and regional operations. Suresh Babu, currently an executive vice president, brings more than 26 years of experience with a strong background in pan-India field service operations.

The leadership changes come as the country’s largest carmaker strengthens its organisational structure to support evolving business needs, including digitalisation, aftersales growth and operational efficiency.
