Maruti Suzuki India produced 221,613 vehicles in August 2026, up 40% year on year from 158,202 units in August 2025, according to the company's production filing with the stock exchanges.
Total passenger vehicle production stood at 217,881 units during the month, compared with 155,238 units a year earlier, representing a 40.4% increase. Light commercial vehicle production rose 25.9% year on year to 3,732 units from 2,964 units.
Maruti Suzuki utility vehicle production rises 67% YoY
Utility vehicle production recorded the highest growth among the major segments, rising 67.1% year on year to 97,922 units in August 2026, compared with 58,587 units in August 2025. The category includes the Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Jimny, Victoris, XL6 and OEM models.
Passenger car output grows 26% in August
Production of passenger cars increased 25.7% year on year to 107,400 units. Within this category, output of compact models, including the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, WagonR and OEM models, rose 28.4% to 97,510 units.
Mini vehicle production, comprising the Alto and S-Presso, rose 4.3% year on year to 9,890 units. Van production of the Eeco increased 11.7% to 12,559 units.
The company's August 2026 production figures cover passenger vehicles and the Super Carry light commercial vehicle.
