Maruti Suzuki Invicto Achieves 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating
The premium strong hybrid utility vehicle joins the company's expanding portfolio of five-star rated models, featuring comprehensive safety technologies under the Nexa Safety Shield program.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced that its premium strong hybrid utility vehicle, Invicto, has received the highest 5-star safety rating from the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP). The three-row hybrid SUV demonstrated robust structural stability and comprehensive safety features during the assessment, incorporating both active and passive safety technologies as part of Maruti Suzuki's NEXA Safety Shield initiative.
"Safety has always been at the heart of Maruti Suzuki's product philosophy," said Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited. "We are honoured to receive the prestigious 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP assessment for our premium Strong Hybrid UV, Invicto."
The Invicto joins Maruti Suzuki's growing collection of 5-star Bharat NCAP rated vehicles, alongside the All-New Dzire and VICTORIS models. This achievement reinforces the company's commitment to safety across its product lineup.
The Invicto comes equipped with six airbags as standard, including front, side, and curtain airbags. Additional safety features include Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill Hold Assist, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and front and rear disc brakes.
The vehicle also incorporates advanced driver assistance technologies such as a 360-degree view camera with dynamic guidelines, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Hold functionality.
Connectivity features include Suzuki Connect with e-Call functionality, while structural safety measures encompass 3-point ELR seatbelts, ISOFIX child seat anchorage points, and protection systems for frontal offset impact, side impact, and pedestrian safety.
Takeuchi highlighted the company's broader safety commitment, noting that Maruti Suzuki now offers six airbags as standard across 15 models spanning 157 variants. This includes vehicles across multiple segments, from entry-level models like Alto K10 and Celerio to SUVs such as Brezza, Grand Vitara, and Jimny.
The Bharat NCAP program, launched to establish world-class automotive safety testing protocols in India, enables consumers to make informed purchasing decisions based on standardized safety assessments.
The Invicto's 5-star rating demonstrates the vehicle's performance across various crash test scenarios and safety parameter evaluations conducted under Bharat NCAP's testing methodology.
This achievement comes as India's automotive industry continues to prioritize safety standards, with manufacturers increasingly focusing on comprehensive protection systems across their vehicle portfolios.
