Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported its highest-ever annual production of 23.4 lakh units in the financial year ending March 2026, marking the fourth consecutive year of production growth. The achievement places the company ahead of every other original equipment manufacturer in India's passenger vehicle segment, according to data from industry body SIAM.

Five models including Dzire, Fronx, Swift, Ertiga and Baleno each exceeded the two-lakh-unit threshold individually during the year, reflecting sustained consumer demand across the company's hatchback, sedan and SUV lineup. The milestone is also notable within the Suzuki Motor Corporation global network, as no other Suzuki manufacturing facility worldwide reached this production volume.

The company currently operates four plants in Gurugram, Manesar and Kharkhoda in Haryana, and Hansalpur in Gujarat, with a combined installed capacity of 24 lakh units per year. In March 2026, Maruti Suzuki identified land for a fifth facility at Khoraj Industrial Estate in Sanand, Gujarat. The new plant is projected to add a further 10 lakh units of annual capacity, putting the company on course for a stated target of roughly 40 lakh units per annum.

Management credited a combination of factors for the production record, including long-standing ties with component suppliers and dealers, as well as the government's rollout of GST 2.0, which the company said helped stimulate demand at a pivotal point in the fiscal year. Suzuki Motor Corporation's continued investment in positioning India as an export hub was also cited as a key enabler of the capacity expansion plan.
