Maruti Suzuki gets Rs 3.25 crore show cause notice

Maruti Suzuki has received a show cause notice from the office of the Principal Commissioner of Customs for Rs 3.25 crore. 

The company informed on Sunday that it received a show cause notice from the office of the Principal Commissioner of Customs (Air Cargo Complex, Import), New Delhi.  It received a notice on 24 August, 2024, as per the stock exchange filings. 

According to the Show Cause Notice, the authority has asked the company to provide the reasons for claiming customs duty exemption on the import of certain category of goods and to pay the differential duty of Rs 32,516,727, along with applicable interest and penalty.

Maruti Suzuki clarified that the show cause notice will have no major impact on the financial, operation or other activities.
