Maruti Suzuki Exports 395,000 Vehicles in 2025, Retains Top Position
The automaker shipped 21 percent more vehicles compared to 2024, marking its fifth consecutive year as India's largest passenger vehicle exporter.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited exported 395,000 vehicles in calendar year 2025, recording a 21 percent increase over the previous year and maintaining its position as the country's leading passenger vehicle exporter for the fifth year running.
The export volume represents the highest annual shipment in the company's history. According to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) covering January through November 2025, Maruti Suzuki leads the passenger vehicle export segment.
The company shipped 18 different models to more than 100 countries during the year. A notable development was the launch of exports for the e VITARA, Suzuki's first battery electric vehicle. Since production began at the Hansalpur facility in August 2025, more than 13,000 units of the electric vehicle have been shipped to 29 countries, with Europe receiving the majority of deliveries.
The e VITARA exports mark Maruti Suzuki's return to the European market after a gap. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first batch of the electric vehicle in August 2025.
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki, noted that the export performance reflects India's manufacturing capabilities and international customer confidence. He described the growth as a contribution to national export objectives during a period of uncertainty in global trade.
The company operates manufacturing facilities in Haryana and Gujarat, producing vehicles for both domestic and international markets. Maruti Suzuki is majority-owned by Japan's Suzuki Motor Corporation.
