Maruti Suzuki India Limited has commenced exports of its premium SUV VICTORIS, which will be marketed internationally under the name 'Across'. The company shipped over 450 vehicles from Mundra and Pipavav ports, marking the beginning of the model's global distribution.
The SUV will reach markets spanning more than 100 countries and regions, with key focus areas including Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. VICTORIS has demonstrated strong safety credentials, securing five-star ratings from both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP crash tests.
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, emphasized the company's export strategy aligned with the Make in India initiative. The automaker reported exports exceeding 390,000 vehicles in calendar year 2025, maintaining its position as India's leading passenger vehicle exporter for the fifth consecutive year.
Takeuchi highlighted the company's export growth trajectory, noting that between 2020 and 2025, Maruti Suzuki's exports expanded 4.67 times compared to 1.43 times growth for the rest of the industry. The company also re-entered the European market in 2025 with its first battery electric vehicle, the e VITARA.
VICTORIS was launched in the Indian market in September 2025, featuring contemporary design elements and technology aimed at younger consumers. The model recently received the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2026 award, recognizing its market appeal and engineering quality.
The SUV incorporates what the company describes as intelligent technology and comfort features within a modern design framework. It was previously showcased to international audiences at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, generating interest ahead of its export launch.
The expansion of VICTORIS into global markets represents Maruti Suzuki's continued efforts to strengthen its international presence and leverage India's manufacturing capabilities for worldwide distribution.
