Maruti Suzuki India sold 219,220 vehicles in August 2026, up 21% year on year from 180,683 units in August 2025.
The company’s domestic sales, including light commercial vehicles, rose 34% to 180,078 units, compared with 134,050 units a year earlier. Sales to other OEMs, however, declined 48% to 5,298 units, while exports fell 7% year on year to 33,844 units.
For the April-August period of FY2026-27, Maruti Suzuki's total sales stood at 1,143,365 units, up 28% from 890,070 units in the corresponding period of FY2025-26. The company said it crossed 1 million units in cumulative total sales during the first five months of the financial year.
Maruti Suzuki domestic passenger vehicle sales rise 35%
Domestic passenger vehicle sales increased 35% year on year to 176,971 units in August 2026, compared with 131,278 units in August 2025.
The utility vehicle segment, comprising models such as the Brezza, Ertiga, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6, recorded sales of 79,045 units, up 46% from 54,043 units.
Passenger car sales across the mini and compact-plus-mid-size segments rose 29% to 85,965 units. The compact and mid-size segment, which includes the Baleno, Celerio, Ciaz, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR, accounted for 77,166 units, compared with 59,597 units a year earlier.
Mini-segment sales, including the Alto and S-Presso, rose 28% to 8,799 units.
Maruti Suzuki LCV sales increase, OEM and exports decline
Maruti Suzuki sold 3,107 Super Carry light commercial vehicles in August 2026, up from 2,772 units a year earlier.
Sales to other OEMs declined to 5,298 units from 10,095 units in August 2025. Export volumes also fell to 33,844 units from 36,538 units.
Maruti Suzuki April-August FY2026-27 sales up 28%
In the first five months of FY2026-27, Maruti Suzuki's domestic sales, including LCVs and sales to other OEMs, rose 32% to 954,729 units.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales increased 36% to 898,402 units, while utility vehicle volumes rose 40% to 376,781 units. Total exports for the April-August period grew 14% year on year to 188,636 units.
