Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG powertrain
As mentioned, the Fronx CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that does duty on a majority of Maruti’s CNG models. As with all CNG models, the Fronx CNG also only comes with the 5-speed manual gearbox. It produces 90hp and 113Nm of torque in petrol-only mode, however, the output dips to 77.5hp and 98.5Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki claims that the Fronx CNG offers a fuel efficiency of 28.51km/kg.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG design, variants and features
Cosmetically, there is no difference between the CNG and petrol-powered versions of the Fronx. However, the boot space has been compromised to accommodate the CNG tank.
Inside, the Fronx gets a black and brown interior and comes with features like a 7.0-inch touchscreen with a SmartPlay Pro system and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The Fronx CNG also gets steering-mounted controls, automatic climate control, dual airbags and reverse parking sensors.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG rivals
The only other compact SUV to get a factory-fitted CNG kit is the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG. Apart from this, the Fronx rivals Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and Mahindra XUV300.
