Maruti Ignis Radiance Edition priced at Rs 5.49 lakh

Maruti Suzuki has announced the introduction of a new Ignis Radiance Edition, which is priced from Rs 5.49 lakh. This is the newest of the slew of special editions that the company is bringing out to boost sales during what has been seen as a slowdown in mass-market segments.

The entry-level Maruti Ignis Radiance Edition, is priced Rs 35,000 lower than the Sigma trim it is based on (Rs 5.84 lakh). It adds accessories worth Rs 3,650, which include bits like wheel covers for the 15-inch steel wheels, a door visor and chrome highlights in select areas.

The Radiance Editions based on the higher-spec Zeta (Rs 6.96 lakh-7.41 lakh) and top-spec Alpha (Rs 7.61 lakh-8.06 lakh) variants are also priced Rs 35,000 lower. These variants get accessories worth Rs 9,500, including new seat covers, black cushions, cladding on the doors and a door visor.

Mechanically, there are no changes, and the Ignis Radiance Edition continues with the 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine that comes with manual and AMT gearbox options. The Ignis continues to rival the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, the Citroen C3 and its own stable-mates the Wagon R, Swift and Baleno.
