Marelli wins 'Top Innovator' award at CLEPA innovation awards

Marelli has been named a ‘Top Innovator’ at the 2024 CLEPA Innovation Awards in Brussels, receiving recognition for its h-Digi® microLED technology in the ‘Digital’ category. This marks the second consecutive year Marelli has been honored in this category, having previously won in 2023 for its HorizonView head-up display.

The h-Digi® microLED module uses an intelligent multipixel LED matrix light source to provide adaptive, dynamic headlight operation and high-resolution image projection, improving safety while remaining compact and affordable. The technology modulates the light pattern based on object detection through cameras and sensors, enhancing safety during nighttime driving. It also offers glare-free full beam lighting for all road users.

With a resolution 10 times greater than conventional LED glare-free high beam systems, the h-Digi® microLED significantly improves illumination range, contributing to increased safety. The system also provides adaptive lighting functions, such as dynamic light bending on country roads, specific light patterns on highways, and adaptive lighting for adverse weather conditions. Additionally, the microLED module can project graphics onto the road to communicate safety messages, warnings, or driver assistance patterns like lane guides.

The compact design ensures high energy efficiency, with two micro-LED options available: one with 25,600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 1:4, and another with 19,200 pixels and an aspect ratio of 1:3. Marelli also developed the optical lens system and electronic control in-house.
