MAHLE Starts Domestic E-Compressor Manufacturing with €7 Million Plant Investment

MAHLE announced on Thursday that it has begun commercial production of electric compressors (e-compressors) at its manufacturing facility in Coimbatore, marking an investment of €7 million (approximately Rs 65 crore).

The installation establishes the first dedicated e-compressor manufacturing facility in India. Designed to support thermal management systems in electric vehicles, e-compressors regulate cabin cooling and manage battery temperature thresholds, directly impacting charging performance, driving range, and cell longevity.

The new assembly line has an installed annual capacity of over 300,000 units at peak utilisation, intended to serve both domestic original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and international export requirements.
