MAHLE has maintained its position among global climate leaders by securing top ratings from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for 2025. The technology company received an A rating in climate change and A- in water security, placing it on the exclusive Climate A List alongside just four percent of assessed companies worldwide.
The ratings validate MAHLE's sustainability strategy, which includes climate targets verified by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). The company continued reducing CO2 emissions in 2025 through energy optimization, expanded renewable energy use, and fossil fuel replacement.
Georg Dietz, MAHLE Management Board member responsible for sustainability, stated the recognition confirms the company's climate protection efforts are both ambitious and scientifically grounded. He emphasized MAHLE's commitment to implementing strategic climate targets with full accountability.
A notable advancement came in CDP's Risk Disclosure subcategory, where MAHLE improved its performance significantly. The company deployed a new location-specific climate risk assessment tool in the previous year, enabling more precise identification of climate-related vulnerabilities and opportunities for integration into business planning.
MAHLE's emission reduction targets align with Paris Climate Agreement requirements. The 2025 emissions decrease resulted from implementing advanced technologies, reducing energy consumption, increasing renewable energy adoption, and transitioning away from fossil fuels. Product development increasingly incorporates recycled and bio-based materials.
The company has maintained external auditing of its energy and emissions data since 2021. Kathrin Apel, Director of Corporate Sustainability at MAHLE, noted that global CDP Climate A List inclusion represents an exclusive achievement, underscoring the company's environmental performance distinction.
