Mahindra XUV 7XO Gets 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating

Mahindra has announced that the XUV 7XO has secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, adding to the automaker’s growing portfolio of SUVs with top safety scores. The rating strengthens the safety credentials of the seven-seat SUV, which was introduced in January 2026 as the successor to the XUV700.

The XUV 7XO was engineered with more than 120 safety features, including six airbags as standard, electronic stability control and Level 2 ADAS with 17 functions. Higher variants get seven airbags, including curtain airbags extending to the third row, while the SUV also offers a 540-degree surround-view camera system and driver-drowsiness alert.

The XUV 7XO builds on the XUV700, which crossed the 300,000-sales milestone in four years. The XUV700 continued to register healthy volumes before being replaced by the 7XO; it recorded 29,046 units between April and July 2025, up 24% year on year. In June 2025, its monthly sales stood at 6,198 units, up 5% from 5,928 units a year earlier.

The XUV 7XO has maintained that momentum in its first year. It crossed 70,000 units in sales by August 2026. Mahindra's overall SUV business has also been on a strong growth trajectory, with domestic SUV sales rising 50% year on year to 59,257 units in August 2026. The company sold 1,07,648 vehicles across its automotive business during the month, up 42% from a year earlier.

Domestic dispatches jumped 36.5% year-on-year to 4,39,309 units in August, marking a record performance driven by SUV and EV demand ahead of the festive season. 

The XUV 7XO is currently priced from ₹13.99 lakh to ₹25.94 lakh (ex-showroom), and is positioned in the premium three-row SUV segment.
