Mahindra announced on Friday that its XUV 3XO ZNG has secured a five star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme.

Mahindra stated that the 3XO ZNG is India's first sub-compact CNG SUV to achieve the milestone. While rivals like the Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza hold five-star safety ratings in petrol and diesel configurations, the 3XO ZNG achieves this top safety milestone specifically within the CNG category.

The CNG Variant of the 3XO scored 29.36 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection and 45 out of 49 points in Child Occupant Protection. The vehicle includes over 35 standard safety features such as six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and an integrated gas leak detection system that automatically switches the vehicle to petrol mode when a leak is detected.

Dr Velusamy R, President of Automotive Business at Mahindra & Mahindra, stated, "The 5star Bharat NCAP rating is a testament to our engineering excellence and reinforces the XUV 3XO ZNG's position as an SUV that excels across every dimension.”
