The Mahindra XEV 9S electric SUV will make its global debut on November 27. The XEV 9S was earlier known as Mahindra XEV 7e in concept form. The upcoming Mahindra electric SUV is a 7-seater born-EV based on the modular INGLO skateboard platform, which already underpins models like the XEV 9e and BE 6. The XEV 9S is be Mahindra’s first three-row electric SUV built ground-up on the INGLO architecture as the other two models, the BE 6 and the XEV 9e come with two row seating.
While the XUV 9s sits on INGLO platform, its overall styling has a lot in common with the XUV700 which includes the overall silhouette and the front and rear looks with EV-specific styling tweaks and unique alloy wheel designs.
Inside, the XEV 9S is expected to share much of its layout and technology with the XEV 9e. This could include a three-screen dashboard setup (combining the instrument cluster, infotainment, and passenger display), along with a new-age steering wheel design among others. It will also come with similar ADAS tech as the XEV 9e with OTA support.
While technical details remain under wraps, Mahindra’s INGLO platform supports battery packs ranging up to 80kWh and 800V architecture for fast charging. It’s likely the XEV 9S will come in multiple battery pack options with the higher variants to come with a bigger battery with a claimed range of over 500km.
The Mahindra XEV 9S will make its global debut in India on November 27, 2025, and could go on sale a little later. Thanks to its three row seating layout, there is no direct rival to the XEV 9s currently, which means the SUV will be a unique offering at its price point which is expected to be slightly higher than the XEV 9e.
