Mahindra University Partners with Bajaj Auto to Launch Engineering Skills Training Centre

Mahindra University has partnered with Bajaj Auto Limited to establish a Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) Centre on its Hyderabad campus, marking the first such collaboration with a private institution in Telangana.

The partnership, announced on November 25, 2025, will focus on equipping engineering students with industry-ready skills in advanced manufacturing, including Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), as well as firmware development.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Dr Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor of Mahindra University, and Mr Sudhakar Gudipati, Vice President of CSR at Bajaj Auto Ltd, in the presence of faculty members and company representatives.

Under the agreement, Bajaj Auto will support the development of the BEST Centre through its corporate social responsibility initiative. The company will provide curriculum designed by its expert engineers, aligned with industry needs and academic requirements, and will sponsor equipment and infrastructure for the two technology verticals.

Dr Medury highlighted the importance of practical exposure to emerging technologies, stating that the centre would deepen the university's engagement with industry partners to align academic learning with evolving requirements. He emphasised that the initiative would contribute to India's advancement as a global technology leader and strengthen the nation's skill ecosystem.

The BEST Centre will serve both Mahindra University students and external final-year engineering students through short-term, internship-based skill programmes designed to meet industry requirements.

Mr Gudipati described the centre as state-of-the-art, noting that the integration of industry-oriented curriculum into the regular B.Tech course would ensure graduates are industry-ready and capable of securing positions in core engineering industries.

The BEST Programme represents Bajaj Auto's flagship CSR initiative, implemented in partnership with universities and engineering colleges across India. The programme aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry demands through contemporary curriculum, advanced laboratories, and hands-on modules aligned with real-world applications.

Mahindra University is a multidisciplinary private university in Hyderabad focused on innovation in higher education, research, experiential learning, and entrepreneurship. The institution is associated with the Mahindra Group, a multinational federation with presence in over 100 countries.
