Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business reported a 13 percent year-on-year decline in domestic tractor wholesales for October 2026, delivering 62,626 units compared to 72,071 units in October 2025. Total tractor wholesales, including domestic deliveries and exports, fell 12 percent to 64,846 units from 73,660 units in October 2025.
Veejay Nakra, President, Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra, said that Diwali dates changing from October in 2025 to November this year attributed to the decline for October, as festive season buyers wait for the festival to make their purchases. "The volume decline was primarily due to festive calendar shift, with Diwali moving to November this year from October last year," he said.
Despite the domestic contraction, exports experienced strong growth, expanding 40 percent to 2,220 units in October 2026 against 1,589 units exported in the same period last year. For the year-to-date period between April and October 2026, cumulative domestic tractor sales remained positive, reaching 338,914 units, up 2 percent from 330,685 units in the previous fiscal year.
