Mahindra has officially confirmed its upcoming Scorpio N based pickup, with the production model scheduled to be revealed on August 14. The company has released a teaser revealing key exterior and interior elements of the pickup, which is derived from the Global Pik Up concept it showcased in 2023.
The upcoming pickup will feature a double-cab configuration and a long rear load bed. Exterior details visible in the teaser include L-shaped LED daytime running lights, slim LED headlamps, vertically stacked fog lamps and C-shaped LED tail-lamps. The tailgate carries large Mahindra lettering, while the front grille follows a hexagonal design.
Scorpio N Pickup Exterior and Interior Design Details Revealed
The pickup's cabin adopts a combination of digital and physical controls. It features a portrait-oriented central touchscreen, digital driver's display, three-spoke steering wheel, rotary climate-control switches and a drive-mode selector.
Mahindra had previously indicated that the production pickup would offer Level 2 autonomous driving, semi-automatic parking, 5G connectivity and a sunroof. Further details are expected to be announced at the vehicle's unveiling.
Scorpio N Pickup Platform, Engine and 4WD Specifications
The pickup will be based on a modified version of the Scorpio N's platform, with a longer wheelbase to accommodate its load bed. Mahindra has also confirmed that the model will use a next-generation ladder-frame architecture designed to meet Global NCAP and Euro NCAP crash-test requirements.
Powertrain specifications for the production model have not yet been fully disclosed. Mahindra has previously confirmed that the pickup will use a second-generation, all-aluminium mHawk diesel engine paired with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Four-wheel drive will be offered alongside multiple terrain modes. The 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine used in the Scorpio N is also expected to be offered in select international markets.
Mahindra's Play for the Lifestyle Pickup Segment
The Scorpio N pickup will expand Mahindra's presence in the lifestyle pickup segment, where the Toyota Hilux currently occupies a key position in India. Mahindra already has an established presence in the pickup market through its Bolero Camper and Bolero Pik-Up commercial vehicles. It has also previously offered the Scorpio Getaway to private buyers. The Scorpio N pickup, however, represents a more significant move into the premium lifestyle pickup segment and could help expand the market beyond its existing niche.
With the production model now confirmed, Mahindra's August 14 debut will provide the first complete look at the pickup's specifications, positioning and market strategy.
