Mahindra Records Over 93,000 Bookings for New XEV 9S and XUV 7XO Models
Consolidated booking value exceeds 20,500 crore following the launch of new electric and internal combustion engine SUVs.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. announced that its newly launched SUVs, the XEV 9S and XUV 7XO, have together received 93,689 bookings as of 2:00 pm today. The booking value, exceeding ₹20,500 crore at ex‑showroom prices, reflects Mahindra’s recent addition of electric models alongside its established petrol and diesel offerings. The company said it is broadening its SUV portfolio by offering customers a choice of electric, diesel, and petrol powertrains.
The booking momentum follows the introduction of the XEV 9S on November 27, 2025, and the XUV 7XO on January 5, 2026. Deliveries for the XUV 7XO began today, January 14, while deliveries for the XEV 9S are scheduled to start during the week of January 26, 2026. Both models will be rolled out in phases across Mahindra’s dealership network.
The cumulative bookings place Mahindra in close competition with rivals such as Tata Motors and Hyundai in India’s evolving EV and mid‑size SUV markets. The response also points to growing customer interest in Mahindra’s ‘Electric Origin’ platforms, compared with conventional ICE‑to‑EV conversions available in the market.
While the immediate focus remains on the Indian market, these models are also part of Mahindra’s broader international portfolio. The “Electric Origin” SUV lineup is intended to serve as a foundation for the company’s global ambitions, targeting expansion in markets across the 100 countries where the group currently operates.
Founded in 1945, the Mahindra Group maintains a leadership position in India’s utility SUV, farm equipment, and financial services sectors. It is currently the world’s largest tractor company by volume and has a strong presence in renewable energy, logistics, and real estate.
