Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited to launch electric four-wheeler ‘e-ZEO’
The 'e-ZEO' aims to offer an alternative in the internal combustion engine (ICE)-dominated small commercial vehicle (SCV) category.
On World EV Day, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) announced the name of its new commercial electric four-wheeler: the 'e-ZEO.' The name stands for "Zero Emission Option," reflecting the vehicle's focus on sustainability and aligning with the company's goal to promote electric mobility in last-mile transportation.
The 'e-ZEO' aims to offer an alternative in the internal combustion engine (ICE)-dominated small commercial vehicle (SCV) category. According to Mahindra, the vehicle features a high-voltage architecture designed for improved energy efficiency, extended range, and faster charging times. The company believes these advantages, combined with a competitive cost, will make the 'e-ZEO' an attractive choice for businesses.
World EV Day, observed annually on September 9, is a day dedicated to promoting sustainable transportation. Mahindra’s announcement of the 'e-ZEO' is part of its efforts to support this global movement and encourage the transition to greener transport options.
Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, said, "Having established a presence in the last-mile electric three-wheeler market, we are pleased to introduce the 'e-ZEO' on World EV Day. This vehicle is intended to support global efforts to accelerate EV adoption, particularly in the sub-two-tonne segment." She added that the 'e-ZEO' aims to enhance urban logistics and support the growth of their customers' businesses.
The 'e-ZEO' is scheduled to be launched on October 3, 2024, marking Mahindra’s entry into the commercial four-wheeler electric vehicle market.
