Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited is expanding its WE Hunnar initiative, a skill development program launched in 2024. The initiative has trained 245 women in driving, customer care, and EV maintenance, with plans for further expansion across India.
Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) has expanded its Mahindra WE (Women Entrepreneurs) Hunnar initiative, a skill development program aimed at training women in the mobility sector. Launched in July 2024 as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts, the program provides training in three-wheeler and four-wheeler driving, customer care, and electric vehicle (EV) repair and maintenance.
On International Women’s Day, MLMML recognized participants who completed the program and obtained their driving licenses. A total of 245 women have been trained under this initiative, including 52 in vehicle operation, 185 in customer care, and eight in EV repair and maintenance. In addition to hands-on training, the company facilitated licensing procedures and worked with financial institutions to offer loan opportunities for participants seeking employment.
Initially launched as a pilot program in Bengaluru, the initiative is now set to expand to other cities across India. MLMML collaborated with Lok Bharti Education Society as its training partner to implement the program. The company aims to continue supporting workforce diversity and economic opportunities for women in the mobility sector.
Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) is a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra, focused on providing last-mile transportation solutions in India. Specializing in electric and small commercial vehicles, the company aims to offer efficient, affordable, and sustainable mobility options for urban and rural markets.
MLMML manufactures a range of vehicles, including electric three-wheelers and compact four-wheelers designed for passenger and cargo transport. The company has established itself as a key player in India’s growing electric vehicle (EV) segment, catering to the increasing demand for environmentally friendly and cost-effective transportation.
A significant part of MLMML’s strategy involves developing electric mobility solutions to reduce carbon emissions and operational costs for businesses and individuals. The company has introduced models such as the Mahindra Treo and Mahindra Zor Grand, which offer electric alternatives to traditional fuel-based vehicles. These vehicles are designed to provide low maintenance costs and long-term savings, making them a viable choice for commercial use.
In addition to vehicle manufacturing, MLMML collaborates with financial institutions to provide accessible financing options for buyers. The company also works on developing charging infrastructure to support EV adoption.
