Mahindra Expands Aftersales Service Infrastructure in Delhi-NCR
The automaker has opened a 26,000 square foot training facility, deployed electric mobile service vans and added five service touchpoints with 70 working bays across the region.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd has announced a multi-pronged expansion of its aftersales service operations in the Delhi-NCR region, focusing on capability building, mobile service deployment and network expansion.
The company revealed the initiative on Monday, describing it as a holistic revamp aimed at setting new benchmarks for service and convenience in the capital region.
Training Infrastructure
Central to the expansion is the establishment of the Mahindra Institute of Learning Excellence, a 26,000 square foot facility dedicated to upskilling service teams. The centre includes an experiential learning demonstration hall designed to provide comprehensive training in sales, mechanical service and bodyshop operations.
According to the company, the facility aims to equip service centre professionals with skills needed to service Mahindra's portfolio of electric SUVs and conventional SUVs, which increasingly incorporate advanced technology.
Electric Mobile Service Units
Mahindra has deployed multiple dedicated electric vans across Delhi-NCR under its Electric Vehicle Assistance Network (eVan) programme. These mobile units will provide doorstep service specifically for Mahindra electric SUV owners.
The eVans are equipped to handle periodic maintenance, washing and minor repairs at customer locations. Each unit features a battery pack with charger, hydraulic scissor lift, wheel balancer and car care equipment, the company stated.
Mahindra indicated it plans to expand the eVan service to other cities and roll out additional units in the coming period, though specific timelines were not provided.
Network Expansion
The automaker has added five new service touchpoints in the region, expanding service capacity by the equivalent of 70 working bays. The company said the additional facilities would ensure faster turnaround times and improved service accessibility for customers.
The new touchpoints will service Mahindra's SUV portfolio, with one facility in Northwest Delhi dedicated to commercial vehicles.
Mahindra did not disclose the total investment amount for the expansion or provide specific locations for the new service centres.
Mahindra & Mahindra, founded in 1945, is among India's largest automotive manufacturers with a leadership position in farm equipment and utility SUVs. The company is the world's largest tractor manufacturer by volume.
The multinational conglomerate employs 324,000 people across over 100 countries, with operations spanning farm equipment, information technology, financial services, renewable energy, agriculture, logistics, hospitality and real estate.
The company has positioned customer-centricity as a priority in its service expansion strategy, according to Monday's announcement. Further details on implementation timelines and additional city rollouts for mobile service units were not disclosed.
