The collaboration is intended to strengthen Luminis’ presence in aquaculture and extend its solutions into India’s soil microbiome segment.
Nalanda Capital Partners, acting as the strategic and capital advisory partner, facilitated the partnership. The firm continues to support Luminis’ plans to scale biological data into applied solutions for agriculture and related sectors.
Through this collaboration, Luminis aims to apply its Omni Biome AI platform and genomics tools to address challenges such as soil degradation, inconsistent yields, rising agricultural diseases, and climate-related stresses. The company also seeks to reduce the agricultural sector’s dependency on antibiotics while maintaining productivity.
Rachelle Jensen, CEO of Luminis, noted that the collaboration brings together scientific tools, networks, and financial support to introduce microbiome-based solutions in Indian farming. The company is also investing in developing genomic data infrastructure through Next Generation Sequencing and AI, with the goal of deploying these technologies in India’s agri-food systems.
