Lumax Yokowo Eyes India's Connected Mobility Market with Expanded Product Roadmap
Lumax DK Marwah visits Yokowo's Vietnam facility alongside its President, signalling a deepened commitment to their India joint venture and an ambitious push into next-generation vehicle connectivity solutions.
Lumax Industries CEO Vikas Marwah has reaffirmed the company's strategic partnership with Japan's Yokowo Co., Ltd., following a visit to the latter's Vietnam manufacturing facility. Marwah shared the development via a LinkedIn post, offering a look at one of the automotive antenna industry's most expansive production ecosystems — one that supplies leading global OEMs across multiple export markets.
The two companies entered a joint venture in 2020, establishing Lumax Yokowo Technologies Pvt. Ltd. to localise automotive antenna manufacturing in India. What began as an initiative centred around shark-fin antennas has since evolved into a broader connectivity play.
In his post, Marwah outlined an expanded product roadmap that Lumax Yokowo is now preparing to launch, tailored to India's growing automotive technology market. The portfolio includes connected vehicle antennas for 4G and 5G telematics, GNSS and GPS high-precision positioning systems, and V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communication solutions. The company also plans to introduce integrated antenna modules combining AM/FM, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GNSS capabilities, alongside software-defined vehicle connectivity hardware and antenna systems designed for electric and autonomous-ready platforms. Future-ready private 5G and smart mobility communication solutions are also on the roadmap.
The announcement positions Lumax Yokowo as a domestic supplier ahead of anticipated demand from Indian automakers upgrading to connected and software-defined vehicle architectures.
