Lilypad and Battery Smart Partner to Boost EV Adoption in Delhi NCR

Battery Smart, has announced a partnership with Lilypad, a digital marketplace for electric two-wheelers, to promote electric vehicle adoption across the Delhi NCR region.

Under the partnership, Lilypad will sell battery-less electric two-wheelers that integrate with Battery Smart's swapping infrastructure. The model is designed to reduce upfront vehicle costs and address challenges related to charging time and battery maintenance.

The companies plan to sell approximately 1,000 vehicles through the partnership during an initial three-month activation campaign, with further scale-up planned for 2026.

An on-ground initiative launching in Noida and Greater Noida from October through December 2025 will introduce consumers to swappable battery technology.

The companies note that the region's population of students and young professionals represents a key market for affordable and sustainable transportation options.

Battery Smart operates over 1,600 swap stations across more than 50 cities and has completed over 90 million battery swaps since its founding in 2019. The company was co-founded by IIT-Kanpur graduates Pulkit Khurana and Siddharth Sikka.

Lilypad, founded by Aaryan Sharma and Uday Parmar, positions itself as the country's first full-stack platform for electric two-wheelers, offering digital discovery, home demonstrations, purchase, rental, and fleet management services.

The platform has partnerships with OEMs including Bajaj, Ather, and Okaya, as well as logistics companies Swiggy, Zomato, and Blinkit.

The collaboration aims to address affordability and convenience barriers to electric vehicle adoption in India's two-wheeler market.
