Lexus India announced on Wednesday that bookings are now open for the All-New ES 350h, the self-charging hybrid electric version of its newly introduced eighth-generation ES sedan. The model joins the recently launched ES 500e in the brand's electrified lineup and is positioned as part of Lexus's broader multi-pathway strategy toward carbon neutrality.
First introduced alongside the flagship LS in 1989, the ES has been sold in more than 80 countries and has been a longstanding part of Lexus's India portfolio. The new ES 350h will be manufactured locally, sharing its platform and design approach with the ES 500e.
As the eighth generation of the nameplate, the ES has been redesigned as the lead model in Lexus's next-generation electrified range, offered with both hybrid (HEV) and battery-electric (BEV) powertrain options.
Compared with its predecessor, the new ES 350h is larger, with a longer wheelbase, greater width, increased ground clearance and additional interior space. Exterior features include L-shaped lighting elements and electronic door latch releases with Safe Exit Assist, while buyers can choose from six exterior colours, including two new additions, and two interior colour options.
Inside, the car gets a 14.0-inch touchscreen running the latest Lexus Interface, a fully digital instrument cluster and a Tazuna cockpit layout designed to keep controls within easy reach of the driver. The company also cites "Responsive Hidden Switches," which it describes as a first for the segment.
The hybrid system pairs a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a new eAxle and an integrated Power Control Unit, alongside a newly developed lithium-ion battery intended to balance performance, fuel efficiency and quietness.
Safety equipment includes the latest Lexus Safety System+, featuring an upgraded Pre-Collision System, all-speed dynamic radar cruise control and Lane Tracing Assist, with a Drive Monitor feature available on the top Luxury variant.
The ES 350h also comes with connected-car functions, including remote monitoring of fuel levels and driving range, climate pre-conditioning, live vehicle tracking and an integrated emergency call feature, accessible via the Lexus Connected app.
On ownership, Lexus India is offering a five-year roadside assistance package, an eight-year/200,000 km warranty on the vehicle and hybrid battery, an Assured Buy Back Program, and tiered Lexus Luxury Care service packages ranging from three to eight years.
The ES 350h is available in two variants — Exquisite and Luxury — priced at Rs 66,10,000 and Rs 71,80,000 ex-showroom, respectively. Bookings can be made at Lexus Guest Experience Centres across India or via www.lexusindia.com.
