KPIT Expands Southeast Asia Footprint With New Vietnam Technology Centre

KPIT Technologies has expanded its presence in Southeast Asia with the inauguration of a new technology centre in Hanoi, Vietnam, alongside partnerships with two universities aimed at developing engineering talent for the mobility sector.

The company said the new facility will serve as a hub for engineering and innovation activities supporting mobility programmes across Southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region. The expansion comes as vehicle manufacturers and suppliers increasingly focus on software-defined vehicles, electrification and advanced mobility technologies.

Vietnam has emerged as a growing automotive and technology hub within Southeast Asia, attracting investments from both domestic and international vehicle manufacturers. KPIT said its decision to strengthen its presence in the country aligns with its strategy of operating closer to markets where mobility technologies are being developed and deployed.

New Hiring Plans
According to the company, the Hanoi centre has already recruited local engineers and is expected to create more than 100 additional positions in the near term. The facility will support engineering, software development and innovation activities for automotive and mobility customers across the region.

University Collaborations
As part of its expansion, KPIT has signed Memorandums of Understanding with Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and VinUniversity. The collaborations are intended to strengthen industry-academia engagement, support skill development, and create employment opportunities for students and young professionals entering the mobility technology sector.

“Vietnam is an important long-term market and talent hub for KPIT in Southeast Asia. We see strong potential in its talent, energy, and pace of innovation, with both homegrown and global vehicle makers continuing to invest in the country,” said Sachin Tikekar, President and Joint Managing Director, KPIT Technologies.

KPIT, which focuses on software and engineering solutions for the automotive and mobility industry, said the expansion reflects its long-term commitment to the Vietnamese market and the broader Southeast Asian mobility ecosystem. The company currently works with automotive and mobility customers across major markets, including Germany, Japan, the United States, China and India.
