Kochi to Implement Genesys International’s Digital Twin Platform

The Kochi Municipal Corporation is set to implement a Digital Twin platform developed by Genesys International Corporation, as part of a project awarded by KIIFCON Pvt. Ltd. The project, valued at ₹9.13 crore, is being executed in partnership with UL Technology Solutions and will cover all wards under the Kochi Municipal Corporation.

This platform will incorporate LiDAR data, high-resolution base maps, and a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) to create a comprehensive geospatial management system. The digital twin aims to support real-time decision-making for city officials, especially in the areas of infrastructure development, utility services, and emergency response planning.

The Kochi project follows a similar initiative in Hubli, Karnataka, where Genesys International was recently awarded a ₹21.45 crore contract. These developments indicate a broader adoption of geospatial technology among municipal bodies in India.

Sajid Malik, Chairman and Managing Director of Genesys International, remarked that the increasing use of geospatial tools reflects a shift in how urban governance is approached. He highlighted India’s large network of urban local bodies as an area where such technologies could support more efficient administration.

Genesys’ Digital Twin platform combines technologies such as high-precision mapping, LiDAR data processing, and real-time analytics. It is designed to function as a decision-support system to assist with city management and public service delivery.

The company views this project as part of a larger trend of urban digital transformation in India and aims to provide municipalities with the tools required for more informed and data-driven governance.
