Kinetic Green Plans Launch of Three Electric Scooters Over Next 18 Months
Company announces expansion of two-wheeler business following success of E-Luna model, with first launch planned before 2025 festive season.
Kinetic Green, an Indian electric vehicle manufacturer, announced plans to launch three new electric scooter models over the next 18 months, marking an expansion of its two-wheeler business segment. The company revealed the roadmap on July 11, 2025, citing the success of its E-Luna model as the foundation for growth.
The first model in the expansion will be a family scooter scheduled for launch before the 2025 festive season. The vehicle will feature a TFT display, IoT capabilities, and a digital platform developed in partnership with Jio Things. The company plans to offer multiple battery variants and fast-charging technology to accommodate different consumer needs and budgets.
For its future models, Kinetic Green has partnered with Torino Design, an Italian automotive design consultancy based in Turin. The collaboration aims to create what the company calls "ultra-futuristic scooters" based on a "Born Electric design philosophy." These models are expected to reach the market next year.
Dr. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO of Kinetic Green, said the company has sold over 80,000 electric two-wheelers in its initial phase and established a network of 400 dealers across India. The company operates with what it terms "Thoughtful Engineering," focusing on design, connectivity, and safety features.
Kinetic Green began its electric vehicle operations in 2016 with three-wheelers before entering the two-wheeler market in 2022. The company launched its E-Luna model in 2024, which has found applications in both personal and commercial segments across urban and rural markets.
The expansion comes as India's electric scooter market shows growth potential. According to the company's data, 1.15 million electric two-wheelers were sold in India during 2024-25, with 1.03 million being scooters. The company projects that electric scooter penetration will increase from 15% to 70% over the next five years, with the market potentially reaching Rs. 40,000 crores by 2030.
Kinetic Green operates a manufacturing facility near Pune, Maharashtra, and recently secured $25 million in Series A funding from UK-based Greater Pacific Capital. The company is currently seeking an additional $30 million in funding to support its growth plans.
The company also maintains a joint venture with Tonino Lamborghini of Italy for electric golf carts and lifestyle carts for global markets, demonstrating its diversification within the electric vehicle sector.
