Kinetic Green appoints Debashis Mitra as President of 3-wheeler business
Mitra will assume the position of President of the 3-wheeler business upon the retirement of Paul Zacharia in June 2024.
Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions Limited, a manufacturer of electric two and three-wheelers in India, has named Debashis Mitra as the President of the 3-wheeler business. With an illustrious career spanning over three decades in the Indian automotive sector, Mitra brings extensive expertise and leadership to Kinetic Green's endeavors.
Kinetic Green is renowned for its pioneering role in India's electric three-wheeler market, focusing on in-house research and development (R&D) and the 'Make in India' initiative. The company is expanding its portfolio to include the L5 passenger segment, in addition to its existing operations in the L3 passenger and cargo categories.
Mitra's distinguished career includes senior leadership roles at notable companies within the automotive industry. He has delivered remarkable results and transformative initiatives at organisations such as AltiGreen, Greaves Cotton, Mercedes Benz, and Toyota Kirloskar, among others. His strategic vision and achievements have contributed to the growth and success of these companies.
In his new role, Mitra will drive Kinetic Green's expansion initiatives, focusing on strengthening the company's network and market share in the rapidly growing E3W segment. He will oversee the entire Profit and Loss responsibilities of the 3-wheeler Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and collaborate closely with R&D and operations/sourcing leadership to drive efficiency and innovation.
Kinetic Green has outlined an ambitious expansion plan for the fiscal year 2024-25, aiming to double its dealership network and achieve a sales target of 20,000 E2W units. Mitra's appointment is expected to play a crucial role in realising these growth objectives and reinforcing Kinetic Green's position as a leader in the electric vehicle industry.
