Kinetic Engineering Ltd. (KEL) has announced a ₹40 crore capital infusion by its promoter group, carried out through the conversion of warrants and subject to applicable regulatory approvals. Following the transaction, promoter shareholding in the listed automotive components manufacturer has risen to 65 percent, up from 49 percent four years ago.
The funds will be directed toward two principal areas: supporting the nationwide rollout of the Kinetic DX electric scooter, launched by its 80 percent-owned subsidiary Kinetic Watts and Volts, and funding capacity additions and new client programmes within its automotive components business.
Kinetic Watts and Volts has begun sales and service operations in Pune, Mumbai, Vadodara, Surat, Indore, and Delhi NCR. The Kinetic DX EV features a steel body, 37 litres of under-seat storage, and is powered by a Range-X LFP battery pack. The company holds several first-in-segment patents under its 'EASY' features suite, covering charging, key, and flip functions.
KEL's components division supplies to a roster of domestic and international original equipment manufacturers including Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, Renault, American Axle, Magna Powertrain, and Sonalika Tractors. The company operates a large-scale manufacturing facility in Ahilyanagar and has been deepening its exposure to electric vehicle components, battery systems, and precision engineering.
Kinetic Engineering, which crossed five decades of manufacturing operations, is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE: 500240) and maintains its corporate office in Chinchwad, Pune.
