Kia India has launched the Syros EV, its second mass-market electric vehicle to be manufactured in the country, with prices starting at Rs13.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 42 kWh variant and Rs16.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 51.4 kWh Extended Range variant. The vehicle will go on sale at Kia dealerships across India from 30 July 2026.
Alongside the pricing, Kia has introduced a set of ownership benefits aimed at easing the transition to electric vehicles. These include an assured buyback programme offering resale value of up to 80 percent after three years, a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing option with ownership starting at Rs7.99 lakh and battery EMIs from Rs3.3 per kilometre, and a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty covering 15 years with unlimited kilometres for the first owner.
Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India, said the company designed the Syros EV to make electric mobility more accessible without compromising on value, citing the buyback and warranty offerings as ways to address common concerns among prospective EV buyers.
Range and Performance
The Syros EV is offered with two battery options. The 51.4 kWh pack delivers an ARAI-certified range of 526 km, which Kia says makes it the first vehicle in its segment to cross 500 km, while the 42 kWh battery offers a range of 443 km. The vehicle also supports DC fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in 39 minutes and produces 171 PS of power, figures the company describes as best-in-segment.
Built on Kia's K1 platform, the SUV uses a Nickel Manganese Cobalt battery and can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 8.1 seconds with the larger battery pack. It also includes features such as regenerative braking paddle shifters, vehicle-to-load capability, and a battery heating system for varied climates.
Charging Network
Kia's K-Charge ecosystem, accessible through the MyKia app, links more than 20,300 charging points from 23 charge point operators across the country. The company said this is supported by over 129 dealerships equipped with DC fast chargers and more than 275 EV-ready workshops.
Design and Features
The Syros EV features an SUV-styled exterior with LED lighting elements and 17-inch alloy wheels, and is available in nine exterior colours and three interior themes. Inside, the cabin includes a 30-inch panoramic display panel combining an instrument cluster, touchscreen and climate control interface, along with ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof and wireless smartphone charging.
On safety, the vehicle comes equipped with Level 2 advanced driver-assistance systems offering 16 functions, including collision-avoidance assist and lane-keeping features, in addition to six airbags and electronic stability control as standard.
The Syros EV is offered across seven trims. Kia India has previously launched vehicles including the Seltos, Sonet, Carens, Carnival, EV6 and EV9 in the Indian market, and operates a manufacturing plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
