Kia India unveils sketches of first SUV under Kia 2.0 design
With the upcoming Kia 2.0 SUV, the company aims to bring a fresh flair to the Indian SUV segment.
Kia India released sketches of its first SUV under the Kia 2.0 banner, marking the company’s evolution in design, technology, space, and safety. This new SUV, built on the advanced Design 2.0 philosophy, draws inspiration from Kia’s EV9 and Carnival Limousine, showcasing futuristic aesthetics and sophisticated engineering, Kia India said.
Kia’s upcoming SUV aims to redefine the segment with an emphasis on lounge-style premium interiors, innovative seating arrangements, and sophisticated features. It introduces a unique blend of functionality and luxury, designed to provide a spacious, comfortable, and modern cabin experience for Indian consumers. This release signals Kia’s intent to deliver premium features, maximised interior space, and enhanced safety in its latest model.
Gwanggu Lee, MD & CEO of Kia India, said, the all-new Kia 2.0 SUV embodies the company’s perennial commitment to break conventions with innovation, design excellence, and customer-centricity with its products. “This SUV is designed to delight customers with its segment-first features, exceptional performance, and unparalleled comfort. We are confident that it will resonate with discerning Indian buyers who demand the best,” he said.
Kia Motors, a South Korean automotive manufacturer, entered the Indian market in 2019 and quickly established a strong foothold with popular models like the Kia Seltos, Sonet, and Carnival. Known for its focus on premium quality, modern design, and innovative features, Kia India has appealed to tech-savvy and design-conscious consumers.
As the automotive industry transitions towards electric vehicles (EVs) and more tech-integrated designs, Kia has responded by advancing its own design and technology philosophy—termed "Kia 2.0." This transformation aligns with a broader strategy seen in its global offerings like the EV9, a fully electric SUV with advanced tech features and a futuristic design language, and the Carnival Limousine, which emphasises luxury and comfort.
The SUV market in India, currently one of the fastest-growing segments, presents a prime opportunity for Kia to establish this "new species of SUV" with a unique combination of luxury, tech, and practicality that stands out.
