The Korean carmaker has maintained consistent growth throughout 2025, with year-to-date sales reaching 163,439 units compared to 146,644 units during the same period last year.
Strong Year-to-Date Performance
The company's performance in the first seven months of 2025 shows an 11.45% increase in sales compared to the corresponding period in 2024. This growth trajectory has contributed to Kia India achieving its highest-ever share of global Kia Corporation sales, accounting for approximately 9% of the parent company's worldwide deliveries in the first half of 2025.
New Model Launches Drive Growth
The recently launched Carens Clavis and Kia's first made-in-India mass-market electric vehicle, the Carens Clavis EV, have contributed to the overall growth momentum. Both models have received positive response from customers seeking comfort, innovation, and segment-leading features. The Carens Clavis EV has emerged as a notable product in the mass-market electric vehicle segment.
Export Performance
In addition to domestic sales, Kia India exported 2,590 units in July 2025, demonstrating the company's commitment to expanding its global footprint and diversifying market reach beyond India.
Management Commentary
Mr. Joonso Cho, Chief Sales Officer of Kia India, attributed the performance to customer trust in the Kia brand. He emphasized the company's focus on delivering vehicles that meet evolving customer needs, particularly highlighting the encouraging response to the Carens Clavis EV's performance, range, and practicality.
Company Background and Market Position
Kia India established its manufacturing presence through a memorandum of understanding with the Andhra Pradesh government in April 2017, building a facility in Anantapur District. The company began mass production in August 2019 with an installed annual production capacity of 300,000 units.
The company rebranded in April 2021 under the "Movement that Inspires" identity, focusing on meaningful customer experiences through innovative products and services. Kia India currently offers nine vehicles in the Indian market, including the Seltos, Syros, Sonet, Carens, Carnival, EV6, EV9, Carens Clavis, and the new Carens Clavis EV.
Market Infrastructure
Since launching operations, Kia India has completed nearly 1.5 million vehicle dispatches from its Anantapur plant, including over 1.2 million domestic sales and more than 367,000 exports.
The company operates a network of 744 touchpoints across 329 cities and has over 470,000 connected cars on Indian roads, establishing itself among the connected car leaders in the country.
