Kia India has introduced a battery warranty covering 15 years with unlimited kilometres for first private owners of the Carens Clavis EV, applicable to units retailed from August 1, 2026 onwards.
Under the updated terms, commercial and fleet operators, alongside secondary owners, will remain covered under the standard high-voltage battery warranty term of eight years or 1,60,000 kilometres, whichever occurs earlier. Existing private owners who purchased the electric multi-purpose vehicle prior to August 1, 2026 can opt to upgrade their factory eight-year/1,60,000 km warranty to the 15-year/unlimited-kilometre plan for a one-time administrative fee of Rs 3,400, subject to vehicle evaluation and terms.
Kia says the new scheme will complement its existing Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program.
Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, commented, "At Kia, our focus has always been on making electric mobility more accessible, dependable and rewarding for our customers. The Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty for the Carens Clavis EV reflects our confidence in the quality and durability of our battery technology."
