Ahead of its global debut in the coming months, new spy shots of the heavily updated Kia Carnival have surfaced previewing fresh looks with some bold design cues.

The third-gen Carnival was sold in the Indian market until June 2023 when it was discontinued for being at the end of its product lifecycle. Kia, however, has confirmed to us that the upcoming facelifted fourth-gen Carnival will make it to our shores next year.

New Kia Carnival to get major updates inside out
At the Auto Expo in January, Kia showcased the current-gen Carnival as KA4, which is already a three-year-old model now. India will, however, get the new MPV with its mid-lifecycle update and as seen in the spy shots here, the updated Carnival seems to be getting a major styling overhaul to bring it in line with the newer Kia models.

The design is more upright and angular with L-shaped headlamps and tail-lamps like the ones seen on the updated Seltos, and also on the EV9 SUV sold abroad. The front and rear bumper, grille and alloy wheel design will also be new, making the facelifted MPV look almost like an all-new vehicle.

On the inside, the dashboard and tech will be spruced up and there will be multiple seating options on offer. There are talks that the new Carnival will take the luxury quotient a notch higher with even more premium cabin materials and creature comforts that will also help Kia India justify its pricing, which will be higher than the outgoing Carnival.

Once again, the Carnival in India will most likely not have a direct rival. The Toyota Innova Hycross will give some competition at the lower end and the recently launched all-new Toyota Vellfire on the higher side.
