EV energy solutions provider Kazam has entered into a partnership with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) to enhance electric vehicle charging accessibility across India, the companies announced Monday.

The collaboration integrates more than 5,350 HPCL EV chargers into the Kazam mobile application through an OCPI-powered platform. The network includes 3,043 DC fast chargers positioned along highways, in major urban centers, and at key retail locations.

The integration enables users of the Kazam app to locate HPCL charging stations, view real-time availability, and navigate to charging points. HPCL, which operates over 24,000 fuel retail outlets nationwide, has been expanding its EV charging infrastructure as part of the government's PM eDrive scheme focused on sustainable transportation.

According to Paras Shah, Chief Operating Officer at Kazam, the OCPI platform facilitates seamless aggregation and real-time visibility of charging stations. "This partnership will enhance India's public EV charging ecosystem," Shah stated.

Kushal Kumar Banerjee, Chief General Manager at HPCL, said the partnership with Kazam represents a significant step in expanding the country's EV charging infrastructure. "By using Kazam's innovative platform, we can provide EV users with easier access, reliable operations, and a seamless charging experience," Banerjee noted.

Beyond improving station visibility, Kazam's platform offers interoperability across multiple charging protocols and backend monitoring capabilities for charge point operators and e-mobility service providers. The companies indicated this infrastructure is designed to support reliable operations and future expansion of the charging network.

The partnership aligns with India's broader policy objectives under the PM eDrive initiative, which aims to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and reduce transportation sector emissions.
