JSW Motors and Tata Elxsi Establish Pune Technology Center
The new research and development hub will focus on engineering software defined platforms and AI powered solutions for upcoming vehicles.
JSW Motors and Tata Elxsi announced a strategic partnership on April 24, 2026, to establish a new research and development hub in Pune. The facility, named the JNEXT JSW NextGen Technology Center, will focus on engineering software defined and connected solutions for new energy passenger vehicles.
Under the agreement, Tata Elxsi will lead the development of a connected vehicle platform and a unified customer experience application for JSW Motors' upcoming vehicle lineup. The technology company will manage the platform from its initial conceptualization and integration through to production and aftersales support.
The collaboration will utilize various digital and data driven technologies, including over the air update frameworks, cloud platforms, and digital twins. The partnership also plans to integrate machine learning analytics, cybersecurity frameworks, and 5G enabled systems to manage vehicle diagnostics, performance optimization, and predictive maintenance.
Ranjan Nayak, CEO of JSW Motors, stated that the engineering expertise provided by Tata Elxsi will help accelerate development timelines and support the company's commitment to indigenizing its vehicle platforms.
