JSW MG Motor India announced on Thursday that its e-Hub by MG application has become India's largest unified electric vehicle (EV) charging app, listing more than 22,500 charging points across the country. The app has surpassed 150,000 downloads and onboarded 40 charge point operators (CPOs), including Jio-bp, Tata Power, Adani, Shell, Zeon, Charge Zone, and BPCL.

The platform allows EV users — both MG and non-MG customers — to locate, reserve, and pay for charging sessions through a single interface. Since its launch, the app has facilitated the dispensing of over 1.5 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of energy, supported more than 670,000 trips, and enabled the planning of over 300 million kilometres described by the company as "green kilometres."

The company also announced a set of new features added to the application, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, charger reviews and ratings, a smart trip planner, and a nearby amenities finder.

Vinay Raina, Chief Commercial Officer of JSW MG Motor India, said the app was designed to serve customers during both long road trips and everyday charging needs. "By bringing the leading CPOs together on one intuitive platform, e-Hub by MG empowers users with choice, convenience and confidence," he said.

JSW MG Motor India is a joint venture formed in 2023 between SAIC Motor, a global Fortune 500 company, and JSW Group, an Indian conglomerate with interests across several sectors. The company manufactures vehicles at a facility in Halol, Gujarat, which has an annual production capacity of over 100,000 units.

India's EV charging infrastructure has been expanding alongside a broader push toward electric mobility. The government has set targets for EV adoption under its FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) scheme, and multiple private operators have entered the public charging space in recent years. Aggregator platforms that consolidate charging points across operators have grown in relevance as the number of EVs on Indian roads increases.

The Morris Garages (MG) brand, originally founded in the United Kingdom in 1924, introduced several EV models to the Indian market, including the MG ZS EV, positioned as India's first pure electric internet SUV.
